Original Mixed Media Drawing. 12.5 × 15.5 Prismacolor and acrylic on Arches Watercolor Paper. Framed.
The Shoebill Stork is a large long-legged wading bird, native to East Africa. Its name comes from its enormous shoe-shaped bill. This small rendering depicts the unique head shape of the animal, as well as its expression and posture, set against the neutral, earthy tones of its form. Specimen from the collection at the Harvard Museum of Natural History.
